Breathwork offers a multitude of benefits for both physical and mental well-being. By consciously controlling and focusing on your breath, you can significantly reduce stress and anxiety, promoting relaxation and inner calm. Additionally, breathwork can enhance energy levels, improve sleep quality, and boost the immune system. On a mental level, it can sharpen focus, increase concentration, and facilitate emotional release, leading to greater self-awareness and emotional resilience. When practiced in a group setting, the process is often amplified through the container, helping us explore themes around our interrelatedness. Breathwork provides a simple yet powerful tool for improving overall health, quality of life, and connecting with your source energy.
Your safety and wellbeing are our priority! Please read the contraindications below to see if breathwork is appropriate for you.
Although breathwork is used for healing purposes, in some cases people have experienced adverse effects and, as a result, breathwork is contraindicated (not recommended) for those with:
• A personal or family history of severe mental illness, psychosis, personality disorders, hospitalization for any psychiatric condition or emotional crisis, suicidality, or drug and alcohol addiction.
• Seizure disorders or epilepsy.
• A history of cardiovascular disease, myocarditis, heart attack, high blood pressure, or other heart conditions.
• Glaucoma or retinal detachment.
• Bone or muscular disorders, severe arthritis, osteoporosis, herniated discs.
• A personal or family history of aneurysms.
• Significant physical injuries, illnesses, or recent surgery.
• Persons with a cold, flu, COVID-19, or other respiratory illness are advised against doing breathwork until symptoms have cleared.
• Persons with asthma should bring their inhaler.
• Those with other respiratory conditions.
• Pregnant individuals are advised against practicing Breathwork.
• Persons on medications that affect the respiratory or cardiovascular systems.
Note: All individuals with any of the above conditions must consult with their healthcare provider for approval before attending a breathwork session and notify Awakened Roots in advance by emailing info@awakened-roots.com. If there are any other significant health concerns not listed, please consult your healthcare provider in advance.

Please prepare a comfortable space to lie down near your computer or other Zoom-enabled device before we get started. You should have enough space to lie down comfortably during the event. You can lay on a yoga mat, bed, the floor, the couch, or anywhere you have available, as long as you can lay flat on your back without distractions. If you join us with your laptop or with a camera that can see where you will be lying down, I'll be able to watch you breathe and give you individualized guidance and feedback.
You may call in from your phone or iPad and if you’re not visible to the camera, the experience is just as effective - It's ultimately up to you.
It’s best to lie completely flat rather than to have a pillow beneath your head. It can also help to have a water bottle, tissues, and lip balm nearby. Most people get colder during the breathwork portion, so we highly recommend keeping a blanket near you when we breathe.
Opening your eyes during the breathwork can pull you out of the process temporarily, so we recommend a cover for your eyes. You can use an eye pillow, a small towel, or other cloth.
Please refrain from eating 1-2 hours before the event and be well-hydrated throughout the day. No use of alcohol or drugs before the event. Last of all, please wear comfortable clothing.
The event will be hosted online via Zoom.
An email will be sent with the login information the day of the event.
Please be on time or a few minutes early!
$40 per person for ninety-minute event.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your group event, kindly give us 48 hours notice. We can provide a refund or transfer you to a future group event within this window. No shows or less than 48 hours notice will not be refunded.
There are no refunds on breathwork services that have already been provided.
